Yesterday morning our child care provider pulled out. And by yesterday afternoon we had a new one. She's just around the corner from us. When we were deciding on providers, we couldn't decide between these two. We went with the first one because we felt she was the best. However, God shuffled things around. Now we know the new one will be the best person to provide care for Isaac. He's so little and precious to us - we trust that God worked sovereignly, for reasons we'll likely never know!
This reminds me of how my father-in-law, Weldy, has described decision-making. He talks about being a father to toddlers. When his kids were running around him, going the wrong way, getting into trouble, he would reach down, put his hand on their heads, and just move their heads to guide them another way. And they would go along their merry way.
We make our decisions, but the Lord directs our steps (Proverbs 16:9).
